Qtv gives consumers the ability to view their photos, listen to music and watch their videos on their TV. No more huddling around the PC to show their pictures to their friends, listening to music on PC speakers or watching a movie in an office chair in front of a small PC monitor. Consumers can now enjoy their content in the comfort of their living room on their home entertainment system.
Qtv can also be used without connecting the TV platform to a home network. Consumers can access the content stored on USB devices connected directly to the TV platform. For example, a consumer can access the content on an iPod, Flash drive or external drive connected directly to one of the two USB ports on the PS2. This provides a simple and inexpensive starting point for consumers to try the Qtv solution, as well as creating an incentive to connect the TV platform to their home network.
With the TV platform connected to a home network, consumers can access the content stored on any PC connected to their local network, as well the content stored on a connected USB device.
Qtv supports most popular content formats and standard television resolutions for both NTSC and PAL. New formats will be added as they are supported.
